Attended Grand Valley State University for general education. Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. Working on completing CSNC (Sports Nutrition) and CES (Corrective Exercise for injury prevention) certifications through NASM and planning to go back to college to pursue my bachelors degree and CSCS. (Certified Strength & Conditioning)
Grew up being involved in a variety of different sports. My main focus areas were: Track & Field, basketball, gymnastics/cheerleading, and equestrian team. Regional Champions, All-state in the 4x1, 4x2, and 4x4 relay for track. Almost ran for GVSU but foot surgery stopped me! Participated in ballroom dancing for 10+ years: waltz, East & west coast swing, salsa, bachata, rumba, fox-trot, etc. I have coached children and adults in track and field, basketball, equestrian (horses!), and ballroom dancing.
I was the anti-hero of my own story shortly out of high school. I lost my brother and several family members in 2011, and life just looked different. It was easy to fall into the wrong things with the wrong people. It was clear that I needed to make a change. I didn’t feel like myself anymore, and those who loved me started to notice as well. (Tired, depressed, bad habits, poor nutrition, etc) It was time to get back into something I loved. Enter: Lifting and Training again at the Loading Dock. After my first class, I knew I was about to be a part of something much greater than ever before. The members were warm & cared about me and my story. The Coach was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I knew if I kept going to the Loading Gym consistently, my life would change. Well, it did…completely! Change of scenery, change of activities, habits, the people in my life…improved sleep, nutrition, self-care, self-love. Almost 2 years later and the Loading Dock and its members still deliver. The enemy was me and being consistent with my routine pulled me out of the dark. You can do it too!
I love helping members achieve their goals and accomplish things they never thought possible. I love building relationships with our members and providing support through challenging times, and celebrating during the good times! My motivation is to help you become a healthier, happier, and more sustainable version of yourself by making a few lifestyle changes so you can be strong and there for those who need you. Outside of the gym, I value time with my husband, family, friends & pets, cooking, playing games/cards, boating, hiking, & several other outdoor activities. All the glory to God for our strength comes from him! I promise to bring energy and excitement to your personal training or group training session every time while keeping you safe on your journey!
